A very popular dish is Bengal which is full of flavors. I tried it for the first time when I visited a Bengali friends place and was totally in love with it. Its a spicy mutton curry traditionally made by slow cooking mutton in iron cast wok which gives it that amazing blackish- brown color. I did not have the iron cast wok so I did it in a normal wok and pressure cooked the mutton to save time. This is my version of the mutton curry. Do try it out and let me know how it turns out :) Ingredients  For Marination  1/2 kg Mutton  2 Tbsp Curd  1 Tsp Turmeric Powder 1-1/2 Tsp Chili Powder 1 Tbsp Ginger-garlic Paste  Salt to taste For the curry 2-3 Tbsp of Clarified butter/ Oil (You can use mustard oil if available) 2 Red Chilies  4-5 Peppercorns  4 Cloves  1 inch Cinnamon  2 Big Onions (sliced) 1/2 Tsp Sugar 1 Tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste  1 Potato (Cut into 4 big chunks) 1 Tsp of Red Chilli powder 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder Sal

Sweet Chilli And Lemon Chicken With Sauteed Veggies

Ingredients 

  • 2 Chicken Breast (400 Grams)
  • 3 Tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce 
  • 1 Tbsp Soya Sauce 
  • 1/2 Egg
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • Salt 

Vegetables 

  • 1 Carrot (cut into julienne)
  • 1 Capsicum (cut into julienne)

You can add any other veggies of your choice


Method 


  • Cut the chicken breast into two and make slits into the chicken with the help of a sharp knife so that it gets marinated properly
  • Take a small bowl,crack an egg and beat it with the help of a fork and keep it aside
  • Take a mixing bowl, add the sweet chili sauce, soya sauce, 1/2 beaten egg, lime juice, salt  and whisk it
  • Add the above marinate to the chicken breast and keep it for marination in a refrigerator for about 1-2 hours
  • Once the chicken is marinated, heat a pan with butter and place the marinated chicken breast on it 
  • Pour the remaining marinate on top the chicken and cook it on low flame for about 10 minutes and then on medium flame till the sauce gets caramelized

  • Remove the chicken on a plate and in the same pan stir fry the veggies for about 5-7 minutes by adding a little salt
  • Serve the chicken with the veggies
